Volunteer | Heritage Trail Series

We need a friendly team of volunteers to help us in the beautiful Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens.

Enjoy stunning surroundings while you help our runners achieve their medal. Get free entry to the gardens and a free entry to a future event!

Roles

We have a variety of roles to fill from course marshalling and wayfinding to handing out medals.

This is a wonderful chance to support our amazing runners in beautiful surroundings for a truly rewarding experience.

Date & Timing

We currently need support for our events on Sunday 20 October and/or Sunday 29 December.

We will need you from 7am - 12pm on event day (we may ask you to arrive a little later).

Once you have finished your shift you will be given free access to enjoy the gardens!

What to bring

As you will be starting early, we ask that you bring warm clothes and suitable footwear for the gardens.

Check the weather forecast and bring appropriate clothing. If it is raining, we advise waterproof shoes or boots and a waterproof jacket.

Please also bring a refillable water bottle with you, filled.

for a future Heritage Trail 10km or 5km in 2024
(worth £35 and £25 respectively)

Yes! Parking will be available to volunteers for free, with easy access to the site.

Yes - when you apply, you can select which events you would like to support. After the spring event on 24th March, there will also be events as follows:

Summer: Sunday 9th June

Autumn: Sunday 20th October

Winter / Christmas special : Sunday 29th December

All volunteers must be 16 on the date of the event to volunteer. If anyone under 16 wants to volunteer, they must be accompanied by an adult who has also signed up to volunteer.

Of course, as long as they sign up to volunteer too!
